English-American musician and songwriter Slash is best-known as the lead guitarist of hard rock band Guns 'N' Roses, and is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest rock guitarists. Slash joined Guns 'n' Roses in the mid-1980s and the band released its debut album, Appetite For Destruction in 1988 – the best-selling debut album of all time in the U.S. He enjoyed great success with the band throughout the 1980s and '90s, before moving on to form supergroup Velvet Revolver upon leaving Guns 'N' Roses in 1996. Slash enjoyed mainstream success with the band in the 2000s, with their debut album, Contraband, debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. Chart. In 2010, Slash embarked upon a solo career and released his self-titled debut album, which featured a full roster of high-profile names, including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, Dave Grohl, Chris Cornell and Iggy Pop. He followed with two more solo albums: Apocalyptic Love (2012) and World on Fire (2014), recorded with his band, Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. In 2016, Slash rejoined Guns 'N' Roses.
