W.A.S.P. has been giving audiences some of the best shock rock and metal entertainment around since the early 1980s. Born from the fire of the heavy metal scene in Los Angeles, they dominated the decade with awesome imagery, theatrics, lyrics, and live shows that laughed in the face of convention, which resonated with fans everywhere. The original band consisted of Blackie Lawless, Randy Piper, Rik Fox, and Tony Richards. The lead, Lawless, was known for shocking audiences with unbelievably outrageous antics like hurling pieces of raw meat into the audience, but the fans loved him for it.

They were defined by their seriously out-there lyrics that touched on taboo subjects such as sex, drugs, and religion, making them really stand out. Originaly signed to Capitol Records, their self titled debut album was released in 1984, and their first single, “Animal (F*ck Like a Beast),” actually had to be removed from the album to prevent it from being banned from major stores in the US, but that wasn't a problem that their other two singles, "L.O.V.E. Machine" and “I Wanna Be Somebody," couldn't fix. The album eventually peaked at number 74 on the Billboard 200 and charted in Finland, Canada, Sweden, and the UK. The band created 16 studio albums in total, with some of their best being "The Crimson Idol," "Inside the Electric Circus," and "The Headless Children."

Fans of the genre became infatuated by their provocative and controversial natures, which take social norms and throws it out the window. By pushing these boundries with shocking theatrical performances, elaborate costumes, and heavy metal, this band cemented themselves as a true pioneer, and for that they were rewarded with legions of fans.

Going to this W.A.S.P. concert will provide an opportunity to witness shock rock at its best while they electrify the city with a huge catalog of hits and audience participation. It will be a thrilling experience that you won't soon forget. Be sure to grab your tickets right here and now before they sell out.
