Since 1968, El Tri has been rocking the Mexican frontiers with different styles of rock — psychedelic rock, hard rock, acoustic rock, blues-rock, and blues. One of their first marked live performances was at the Festival de Avándaro, ‘America’s Woodstock' in 1971 with a combination of English- and Spanish-language rock songs, under their initial band name “Three Souls in My Mind. After meandering through the Mexican rock scene playing mostly a combination of English- and Spanish-language rock songs, they made a huge decision of playing rock songs in Spanish, and solidified their sound to blues rock. In 1985, they also changed their name to El Tri. They have several gold records to their name from innovative albums and hit singles such as "Triste Cancion", "Metro Balderas", "Vicioso", "Ya No le Metas", "Tu Sonrisa", "El Rey", "Ahi Pa' la Otra" and their personal salute "Las Piedras Rodantes".
