American rapper Ski Mask the Slump God emerged from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In 2016 he dropped his debut single “Life is Short,” spawned from his sophomore EP Very Rare Lost Files. The album followed his debut EP Cruel World, which is a self released work that can be heard in Soundcloud. Ski Mask the Slump God profusely worked with XXXtenacion early in his career and gained traction with hits like “Very Rare” and “Catch Me.” In 2017, SMTSG dropped his breakthrough EP You Will Regret, which entered the Billboard 200. By 2018, he gained incredible traction with his follow up EP Beware the Book of Eli and his debut album Stokeley. The latter is major label debut and peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on the Top Rap charts. The album went platinum, selling over a million copies.
