It's a quite sound but it's greatly felt. One of the country's rising stars in the post-emo circuit is hitting the road for a headlining trek in support of their new album "The Sound a Body Makes When It's Still" - out this August via Wax Bodega. Known for their high-octane energies that rock the soul, the band's hits since their 2016 releases have stayed close to heart. Every single one of their live shows are met with roaring energy from the crowd, infected by the band's emo & rock-out performances.
Hot Mulligan is back with a new record - "The Sound a Body Makes When It's Still". As fans await its grand release, the band served a taste through their new song "And a Big Load". The track pretty much sums up what you expect from a signature Mulligan piece. Angst, frustration, and cathartic hooks, it's a song that'll definitely make it to your 'favorites' playlists. They definitely got us screaming every single word straight from our car seats.
“It’s the consequences of your own actions. You could face them; you could avoid them entirely,” Chris Freeman shared, as cited from Prelude Press. "Our biggest conflicts and struggles are often self inflicted. Drink too much? Hangover. What did you say last night? Apologize… or don’t... You could commit to being sober. You could commit to drinking one million beers. At the end of the day it’ll all be left for you to deal with. It’s terrifying."
This record is said to be their most cohesive yet, and fans are all in to hear their growth & maturity since their last album "Why Would I Watch" in 2023. One song in, we've heard bold riffs and experiments with sonic notes here and there.
The name of the album is said to be a lyric reference. "That lyric is in a song about paranoia, which is fear," Tade Sanville shared. Whatever route you go, they share how it's such a terrifying thing to simply exist.
Kicking of what's definitely gonna be their best era yet, Hot Mulligan is on the wheel for a heck of a wild ride this year. Come and rock out with these emo stars by booking your tickets now!
