In 1971, Masayoshi Takanaka performed in one of his biggest gig as a professional musician. He was a backing musician at Nobuyasu Okabayash at Hibiya Open Air Concert Hall. He thn joined a band called Sadistics before going solo, in 1976, he released his debut album, Seychelles. During the 70sand 80s, he achieved incredible commercial success with his work with An Insatiable High, Brasilian Skies, and The Rainbow Goblins. Over the course of his five decade career, Takanaka has released over 30 studio efforts. He’s currently regarded as one of the most influential jazz pioneers in the circuit.
