Ocean Alley will have their first show at The Palladium this October 17th for their North American tour, and it will be the first time they are playing in Los Angeles in over two years. The group, who hail from Northern Beaches, Australia, got their start in 2011 doing backyard jams and taking inspiration from Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. The band is composed of Baden Donegal (vocals, guitar), Angus Goodwin (lead guitar), Lach Galbraith (keyboard, vocals), Mitch Galbraith (guitar), Nic Blom (bass) and Tom O'Brien on drums. As they got in sync and found their footing in their home country, they began to dominate the live performance scene and also the charts - winning Australian local contests like the Triple J Hot 100, and being nominated for Australian Independent Record Awards year after year. They have released five successful projects so far, and have toured across the world - most notably stops like France, Germany, The Netherlands, and New Zealand. Oh! And of course - now L.A. and the rest of America, too. They’ve sold tens of thousands of tickets worldwide, and sell out just about every venue they play at - these guys aren’t the ones to sleep on.
And the boys love to tour. Commenting on their constant moves and explorations around the world, Baden said “We drove across the Nullarbor with our wives and dogs. The long straight roads, the isolation and the different landscapes were intense and amazing. There was such contrast between the red dirt and crystal blue ocean. Seeing parts of the desert and sunsets on that commute, the sky turning orange, or tangerine, is what inspired us,”. And he more recently mentioned “Life is a gamble, but when we’re young, we often live in a much more carefree manner—taking all the risks, unaware of the consequences. The reference to being ‘Left Of The Dealer’ is a poker rule where the player left of the dealer will play first or be next to go, insinuating that your time to face these consequences may be up next,”
Well - it looks like Ocean Alley’s time is here! It’s now! The consequences of their success has brought them here to sunny Los Angeles, and their show at The Palladium will be one we never forget. Tickets are on sale and, like we said, these guys always sell out their shows - so don’t wait! Let’s rock!
