With an ongoing tour, the one and only Stephen Wilson Jr. just announced new dates as demand just keeps on rising for his high-energy concerts. Following the release of his “søn of dad” deluxe album and its supporting tour, the man is looking forward to keep celebrating with his fans in this new “GARY THE TORCH TOUR.” From working 9-to-5 in a lab as he rose in his career in R&D, the man took a brave step to pursue what’s really close to his heart — writing songs.
Well, how did he exactly make the switch? From the lab to the studio, his rise in country music is no simple feat. Well before he worked in R&D, he was actually part of a band called “AutoVaughn,” so he was pretty much well-versed with how the industry worked already. In 2016, he took a job as a staff songwriter for Big Loud. In 2021, he released his first single “Made for This” after signing a deal with BMG. A year later, he dropped another single “Year to Be Young 1994 (Unplugged).”
2023 marked his big rise as he released his debut album “bon aqua.” In 2023, he kept the momentum up with his sophomore LP “søn of dad,” and its deluxe version in 2025. As an album inspired by his late father, it really highlighted his emotive songwriting and vulnerable reflections.
His viral cover of “Stand By Me” made rounds on social media, attracting a slew of new listeners who soon discovered his original music. The story behind it? While the song haunted in childhood, he found himself singing it in his living room after his father’s death, a way to grieve. It soon became a hymn about holding on for the brave singer.
Nominated as New Artist of the Year at the 2025 CMA Awards, and a collaboration with Shaboozey for “Took a Walk” — made for the film “The Long Walk,” his presence in country music just kept getting bigger.
Making it big in Los Angeles, the “Stand By Me" (Live at The Print Shop),” “Year to Be Young 1994,” and “Took A Walk” (with Shaboozey) hitmaker is set to share his very best at Hollywood Palladium. A historical concert hall that dates back to 1940, its Streamline Moderne, Art Deco style interior makes shows feel extra special. While it has a wide dance floor and spacious seating + great views, its top-notch acoustics make every night a delight. Some of the most legendary singers and bands have set foot in its stage, performing unforgettable gigs in L.A.
Located in the heart of the city, right in the middle of Hollywood in Sunset Blvd, it sure is the place to be. Right around the corner, there’s plenty of food + drink options and pubs for the perfect night out.
