Bob Mould's legendary band from the '90s is making an unexpected comeback this year. Taking everyone by surprise, the American alt-rock band, Sugar, is heading out for their first tour in thirty years. Wait... there's more! Mould alongside David Barbe and Malcolm Travis also shared new songs "House of Dead Memories" and "Long Live Love" plus released as a 7" vinyl this May.

A bit of Sweet History!

New music out now. Yep, you head that right. Two songs in, it's a whole new era for the '90s alt-rock legends. While their run only took place from 1992 to 1995, their music definitely hit hard. Sugar release their first album "CopperBlue" via Rykodisc in the United States and through Creation Records in the UK. The record was named "Album Of The Year 1992" by NME, beating out other contenders such as those from R.E.M. All killer and no fillers, it's definitely a no-skips album from start to finish. They followed it up with an intense "Beaster" EP that contained material from the Copper Blue sessions, and then released "File Under: Easy Listening" in 1994. 

It all came to an end after their final show in Sendai, Japan. Mould then continued as a solo artist. Fast forward to 2012, the man spent a summer tour playing Copper Blue in full, being the first time he performed Sugar's tracks on stage since the band parted ways. Fans were hoping for a reunion, yet it all comes down to 2026. Not only did we get a reunion & a massive tour, Sugar also shared two new songs that pack the same energies their 90s domination had. It definitely ain't dead memories when the band is alive and kicking once more.

"I don’t want to get out too far in front of the skis, as they say. People’s reactions will probably guide a lot of the possibilities in front of us, whether it’s more songs or more shows. All three of us are all in for whatever feels right. I just want to see if people are still interested." Mould shared with Rolling Stone, as cited from a Pitchfork feature.
