James Bay is an English singer, songwriter from the tranquil market town, Hitchin in United Kingdom. After gaining inspiration from his idols; Carole King, Fleet Floxes and James Taylor – James knew in his heart that he wanted to write and perform music.
After showcasing his songs on stages across Brighton and London, James caught the attention of a Republic Records A&R after a fan uploaded a video of him performing to YouTube, and within a week he was signed to the same label that signed Florence and the Machine, Lorde and James Blake.
Within just a year of the release of his debut EP, 'The Dark of The Morning' in 2013, Bay was selling out on his first UK headlining tour!
First came his hit single "Let It Go", which peaked at number ten, and by the end of 2014, "Hold Back the River" smashed the charts at number two (and charted in ten other countries). Bay's first full-length album, Chaos and the Calm, appeared in March 2015 and has been playing continuously across all of the radio stations.
At 24, James Bay is now entrancing listeners with his effortless vocals and talented acoustic guitar playing, this combined with his trademark image of a wide brimmed hat, long hair and shirt has given him a distinctive style that is taking the world by storm!
