American comedian, writer, producer, actor, and television host Hasan Minhaj was born on September 23, 1985. His use of satire, observational comedy, and dark comedy is prevalent in his comedy, which mostly touches on South Asian culture and the current political climate in the United States. He received three Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, and two Webby Awards for his Netflix series Patriot Act starring Hasan Minhaj. He was included in Time magazine's annual list of the 100 most important people in the world in 2019.

Minhaj first gained notoriety as a stand-up comedian and in small television roles. From 2014 to 2018, he served as The Daily Show's senior correspondent. In 2017, he delivered the keynote address at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. He gained popularity with his Netflix special HOMECOMING KING and his highly regarded political comedy program PATRIOT ACT WITH HASAN MINHAJ, which was nominated for a Peabody, an Emmy, and a Television Academy Honor.

In October 2022, his second one-hour comedy special, THE KING'S JESTER, debuted on Netflix. As the co-founder and CEO of 186K Films, which will develop its first feature film "For The Culture" with Amazon Studios, Hasan previously headlined the 2017 WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' DINNER and served as a senior correspondent at Comedy Central's THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART. In addition to acting in the movie, Minhaj is co-writing the screenplay alongside Prashanth Venkataramanujam.

Minhaj names Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle, Trevor Noah, Junot Diaz, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, and Stephen Colbert as his major influences.

Minhaj was named one of Time magazine's most important individuals of 2019. Trevor Noah stated in an accompanying essay that Minhaj's "whip-smart commentary, charisma and sincerity" were "a consistent reminder that Hasan is America." Noah continued, saying, "We've needed Hasan's voice since Donald Trump came down that golden escalator and turned immigrants and Muslims into his targets." And Hasan is America.

Minhaj tells terrifying tales of personal threats and law-enforcement entrapment, drawing largely on his own experiences as an Asian American and Muslim American to craft his comedic style. He has come to exemplify the value of representation in entertainment for a great number of his supporters.
