Hailing from Santa Barbara, California, Jeff Montalvo, the brain behind dubstep and chillstep act Seven Lions has been making music since the age of seven – starting out playing punk, with his first instrument being the drums! Finding no luck relying on others in bands, Montalvo started to experiment with electronic music, going on to forge a solo career, choosing the name Seven Lions from the children’s book “Latro in the Mist”.
With his remixes of works by artists such as Delirium, Above & Beyond and Paul Van Dyk, the Seven Lions project began to attract a lot of attention. One particular Above & Beyond remix, “You Got to Go” hit the second spot on the Beatport Dubstep Chart! His first EP, the stunning “Days to Come,” reached second place on the iTunes Dance Chart and hit number one on Beatport!! Today, Seven Lions has released five critically EPs and performed at festivals around the world including SXSW, Ultra Music Festival, and Camp Bisco.
